Our building permit department now needs reinforcement for one year due to parental leave. We are looking for a driven building inspector who wants to join us on our exciting journey. Here, you will be an important part of a close-knit team with building permit architects, building inspectors, environmental protection officers, and administrators. We are looking for someone who values collaboration but also enjoys freedom under responsibility and wants to take an active role in creating the future Karlskrona.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a building inspector, your tasks will include:

• handling cases according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL)
• reviewing technical documents (construction drawings, control plans, etc.)
• calling and leading technical consultations
• deciding on start and final permits
• conducting site visits and inspections during construction
• ensuring that constructions comply with laws, regulations, and decisions
• exercising supervision in cases of illegal construction (unauthorized buildings)
• providing advice and service to builders, contractors, and the public
• collaborating with building permit officers, planning architects, environmental inspectors, and others
• documenting decisions, controls, and assessments

QUALIFICATIONS

For the role, we require that you:

• Have a degree from a university/college as a building engineer or similar
• Have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act
• Have a B driver's license

It is an advantage if you:

• Have experience as a building inspector

It is also important that you:

• Are structured, self-driven, and can prioritize and meet deadlines even when the pace is high
• Enjoy creating and maintaining relationships, both internally and externally, and put the customer's needs at the center
• Have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Are curious about digitalization and want to use new tools in your daily work
• Find it enjoyable to work together with others, contribute to a positive team spirit, and further develop the team!
